The "New Legend" Scout

Post by VinceAtReal4x4s »

Parked at Frontrunner. Year long order build time. New crate V8. Jeep frame. (?)

For $60k+ I could get a really nice G-wagen that's a hell of a lot tougher, comes with lockers and lots more. I guess it wouldn't have the wood stickers though.

For $62k for the “budget build” version I am going to need AC included with that LS crate motor
The IH Scout was really the 1st SUV so kinda cool and great that they are keeping them alive and usable

Though the only thing "Scout" left is the body panels and some trim, maybe. The frame(!), motor, trans, axles, steering, brakes... all off the shelf stuff. When it's 80% something else, what do you call it? Where's the line drawn that makes 4x4 what it was, or not? :// I think when the frame completely changes, it's finally something else.

Reminds me of the joke about George Washington's cherry tree axe.

"I've got the original axe. It's only had 4 new handles and 2 new heads"
