Nice Syncro

Saw this on a short trip, tucked away in a neighborhood after a wrong turn. I've been around a few and owned a Vanagon once but was really surprised at the ground clearance of this one. The pic doesn't do it justice. I swear it was approaching Pinz clearance levels in spots. I think the largest practical tire on these is a 225/75 (or 70)R16 and that's about 29", which makes it even more surprising. With lockers front and rear, which Syncros can have (most have at least a rear locker) they can do shocking things. Not bad for a small apartment on wheels with good highway abilities. The engines are commonly upgraded these days to something more reliable/powerful like the VW 1.8 or Subaru 2.2-2.5's which make them fly with 20mpg+.
