Atik G wheels

Post by gunipinzmutt »

The most common alu rims seen on TDs are Atik from G-wagen. Are there adaptation jobs to be done? Are longer bolts needed?
Thanks

We are using a wheel on our tour conversions that is made in the UK for the Sprinter vans. They are relatively inexpensive, look good and are pretty much a bolt on conversion. You will have to change out the wheel studs to a Conical Lugbolt, we found the correct ones in Italy! Retail price in the U.S. is about $175 a wheel and $2 a lug bolt.

Cheers,

Scott

G Wagen rims fit if you ream out the mounting holes.

I cant recall how much but doable

Porsche ones don't fit as the central hub bore was too small. I just happened to get some Porsche rims to play with one day 8)

I can't recall for sure but aren't the stock steel/military Gwagen wheels the same as the steel TD wheels? Like the green ones on the back of that pic?

This is what Magna Steyr/Mercedes are fitting to all the Australian Military G-Wagens.

The Hutchinson Wheels are my all time favourites (Canadian G) but at 876 euro each (I have seen them available a little cheaper from a few specialist suppliers) I think I'II be waiting for a Tattslotto win before I buy any.

Hutchinson's are great but once you go through rocks and bash up the 15 stud threads (x4 = 60) you'll be lucky to get them off without breaking them!
Some Hutchinson's come with the plastic nut caps but not a great solution.
