Towing

Pretty much anything 716 or 718 technical that is not driveline or engine related.

Has anybody had any sucess reducing the height of the towing point and converting to 50mm ball. If so how did you do this?

a flat 12 mm plate of steel with the corresponding 12 mm holes does it nicely..

usea 50 mm ball similar to this one Image

Thanks for your response Albert.
I have never seen a tow bal even similar to that, where did you get it from?
I have fitted the arrangement shown in the picture below but I have not tried it yet as it looks inadequate to me (Paranoia posibly). It was designed for a landrover and I have been told that they are normally braced to the body of the vehicle from the bottom of the plate where the ball is mounted. It is made of 6mm steel with an aproximately 20mm upstand. Any thoughts on this arrangement?
