U.S. 718 Ignition Switch Replacement

Post by ExpeditionImports »

Hi Guys,

As an FYI, conversion of the U.S. Milspec 718's lever ignition switch to a standard ignition switch with key is about an 8 minute job with readily available parts. Both the switch itself and the locking cylinder are in common with the G-wagen. Parts run about $200-250 stateside. I have a couple extra sets if needed.

0014620230 - Switch/Lock
7161475902 - Cylinder with 2 Keys

For anyone with an existing keyed ignition that would be interested in the lever action (non-removable) ignition drop me a line as I have a few extra takeouts from the trucks we are converting.

Cheers,

other Merc ones fit....... cant remember the model but I have had to make heaps of keys for ignitions without them and I use those bits at the locksmith

just mentioning as G Wagen parts always attract a premium

W124 but need a diesel one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/mercedes-w124 ... _114wt_961

good thing is you can get full metal keys instead of the flimsy plastic topped ones

which bit is broke on yours as sometimes its just the lower bit that screws off?
