I've got a contract for some tour trucks that we are building that call for an alternative wheel. Anyways, after a discussion with the manufacturer we have come up with this wheel. I need to pick up 100 pieces to make it worth their while, but the price point seems to be in the ball park. (you will notice that they are black, so the bling bling police can take a hike. however, for those that might want a little flash, we can deliver at the same price in a clear coat aluminum.)

Price would include shipping, and new lugs.

Did you ever get anywhere with these wheels? Are they available? When you posted this I only had the 710 with the CWR wheels. I now have the 712 also with the 17" wheels that I am willing to trade for 16 just so I can run the Interco TrxUs Mts.

Hi Guys,

We ran a number of different wheel options for our customers, including the Alba Crossroads (dis-continued) as well as the KMC's and Cepeks. We also had a very promising wheel that we advertised. The proto-type set was great and is still running excellent. The production mold was "slightly" changed.....that slight change made problems with the drum clearance...ie back to the drawing board. KMC's are a no go. Last time I spoke with Cepek he had lost his foundry and was looking for another, and was not quite sure if he would run another batch.

Wish we had better info, but at this point we are not moving forward on any wheel combinations other than the standby of widening the stock wheel.

Andy, I'm sure someone on the forum would trade you their stock rims. I spoke a guy that owns a 710k and his Interco TrxUs Mts have not rubbed the gas tank guard.

I have Intercos on my 710M. But it has the 16" rims from CWR. The 712, came with 17" rims. I have no problem with the rims themselves other than they are 17" and the choices available from Interco in their line of tires means I think at least a 33" tire overall.

I would trade for rims that are balanced to the hubs but I don't think I'd be real interested in stock rims. That's an option, but not one that is really high on the list. I may end up with the Toyos or Nittos in a 17.

Scott, or anyone who has the ability, I have been looking into having a "safety" bead added to the existing rims. My thought was it would cut down on the overall cost of the rim work. The center hole can be, I prefer waterjet cut, just a little larger to be in the center of each rim at the same time. This would silence those who think the wider rims add wear to the bearing, although with all the miles both on and offroad I have put on mine I have not seen this as an issue. having the bead added would also maintain the looks of the original truck for those who care. Those who like to air down could then go as low as they liked.
Just food for thought.

mike - how would making the center hole centered affect the bearing load?
