Fuel sender question

Post by PINZGAUER712M »

I'm thinking of replacing my fuel sender and gauge as both seem bad.

While reading about the fuel gauge testing method in the SPD site, there is a mention that the fuel sender should measure between 10 to 170 ohms with an ohm-meter (depending on how full is your tank), but in a posting in this site there is a mention that should be something between 240 to 33 ohms. Would like to know which one is right and what should be the ohms measure when empty and which one when full.

VDO stocks a couple of senders that should work, one sender is 10-180 ohms and another one is 240-33 ohms.

Thanks,
Alex.
