Gearbox Oop's

Post by Profpinz »

I had to replace a shot thrust bearing in the clutch today.

I had the gearbox out fairly quickly and all was going well (I even decided to pull the pressure plate and clutch while I was there just to check all was OK)

So all was good, the new thrust bearing was in and I proceded to put it all back together, then just when it was "almost" finished and all I really had to do was fit the slave, lady luck frowned on me!

I dropped the actuator fork push rod down in the bell-housing. :x
After much cursing and swearing and a futile attemp to locate and retreive it with a magnet, I determined the only way to retreive it was to remove the gearbox once again! ..... so in actual fact I fitted TWO gearboxes today! :) :(

Moral of the story! ....Err hang on tight to the push rod when fitting it! :D
