Changing a KM speedo to MPH

Post by psychoman »

Hi all

Another dumb question... I need to change the speedo (which is in km/h) to mph or to read both. Another local test requirement (sign!).

Anyway, options seem to be:

(a) Use a stepper on the speedo cable, to gear it down. I've seen these on grey import bikes, but don't know if they'd fit a Pinz - anyone used one?

(b) Break open the clock and add mph figs to the dial... which I would do, but I'm nervous of wresking the clock itself or

(c) Get a new speedo - digital or similar.... which feels like $$$$$$$.

Oh - and before you ask - no, I can't just stick numbers of the outside of the dial glass - it needs to be a "permanent" amend.

The joys of living in the Isle of Man, eh!?!?

All advice welcome!!
