Can someone tell me how many amps are produced by my stock alternator in my pinz 710M.

35 amps as I recall... at 24v [nominal]... in watts [actual power] that's probably equal to a 70 amp alt. in a "normal" truck [12v nominal]... I reckon actual peak output is +/- 1,000 watts [so at peak output the alt. drags about +/- 1.3 Hp off the engine - plus efficiency losses from belt drag, friction, etc.]

Hope that helps.

I looked at 24 volt heaters and found that they were more pricey than I thought they would be. The ones I was looking at were around $200. So for the same price I bought a 2000W 24volt to 110volt inverter and a 110volt heater. The heater has 3 heat settings 300W 800w and 1500w, so on the lower settings I can stay within the capacity of my alternator, and on the higher setting I can get extra heat for a short period keeping in mind that I'm draining my batteries. I also have the bonus of having 110v power on board for power tools, appliances etc. The inverter is supposed to be about 85 to 90 % efficient but any loss will be as waste heat so that is no disadvantage if I'm using it to run a heater.

The inverter is a 2000w continuous 4000w surge unit the name on it is Power Express, I bought it new on Ebay for $180. I actually just picked up two new heaters today for $15 each they are nice and small 3"x7"x8" with two heat settings 500w and 1000w they are plastic, but I'm going to fab up steel enclosures to mount them in the back of my 710K. The heater is " Mini personal multi-purpose heater" made by comfort zone model CZ25.

710k... so you wouldn't want to trade it for my 710m?

No sorry, the 710K suits the Canadian climate a little better than the 710m
