Distributor cap can be replaced with a 75 or newer volkwagen superbeetle distributor cap too ok

"Pertronix" replaces the points inside the distributor with a solid state sensor. The previous owner of my 710M changed to civilian (NGK) sparkplugs, using a replacement plug wire kit that still uses the original (screw-on terminals) distributor. Another kit uses a replacement (modified Porsche 009?) distributor so that you can use any civilian wires. Pertronix is spectacular. I'm old enough (50+) to remember having to reset and replace worn distributor points on a regular basis. With the pertronix, it's pretty much set-and-forget.
