Power receptacle in the central column

Post by og »

Pinz has one power receptacle on the driver's left side, with a switch, mounted on the same plate as emergency lights (red) switch. But I found
one more identical connector in a rather unusual place, on the left side of
the central column (in front of engine cover) approximately in the place
where hand brake shaft enters the body. Very deep placement in a rather unexpected place. Has anyone used that receptacle? Is it switched or
straight from battery?

Black out light plugs in there. Yours is most likely removed.

black out plug

I used mine to power a small fan on the right side of the wiper motor. Switched from the pull out type switch near the flasher module.

It's for the front blackout light.
That light mounts in place of the horn and has a wire with a plug. The wire enters the truck through a small hole with a rubber grommet, and plugs in the socket you've seen. The socket is powered only in the blackout positions of main lighting switch.

Grazie Ugo! It would make sense to disconnect it from the blackout lights switch and connect to 24V and make it useful again.
