time for brakes

Post by critter »

Well, when it rains it pours. Time for new brakes. Is it best to just go ahead and change the front and the rear brakes at the same time. They obviously wear differently, or just replace the fronts because they are needing replacements now.

Common sense dictates "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Shoes are good to 3/32" or till the rivets touch the drum.
Most vehicles with drum brakes will go through 1 1/2 sets of front shoes to one set of rears.

Thanks Jim,

I figured as much. By the way, you were right on with the brake light switch.
