Greenish transmission oil

Changed the transmission oil, came out greenish. Transmisision is behaving as always, with reverse hard to put in, and usual ease of miss shifting from second to first instead of second to third. According to someone that is supposed to know, it points to wear of bronze/copper parts such as syncro rings. Any thoughts, and how to proceed? Thanks in advance,

2 schools of thought. 1st school of thought: pull the trans and tear down for evaluation/rebuild. 2nd school of thought: If it ain't broke, don't fixit. Have you checked the adjustments of the linage. There is a blockout for reverse selection. I would suggest you unhook the linkage at the trans and check how the shifting works with out the linage to verify the problem is internal.

Gook luck. We'll see what Jim suggests as he is more of an expert at the trans than I am. Only overhauled 2 so far and my old boss was a 2nd school of thought person.

I would not worry about the color, but if it bothers you, send out a sample .
The last owner or person that serviced it could have used a high sulpher or synthetic based gear oil.
Some auto parts stores sell mail in kits or do a web search.
Usually less than $50 U.S.
Reverse is not syncronized and miss-shifts as you described are usually caused by a worn Hiem joint at the shifter or other loose external controls.
