WTB want to buy windshield tension brackets and knobs

Post by NEWFISHER »

Looking for the verticle spring loaded windshield retaining brackets that hold the frame when folded down. They mount between the headlamp and the grille. I also need a set of knobs that secure the frame when the windshield is raised upright.

I dont need the headlamp guards with the rubber footballs as I dont want to get into filling holes and repainting. I have an idea to fab a stop.

Scott at EI thought he had some but hasnt responded to emails or phone messages. SAV hasnt had any and buypinz Bob doesnt have a set but might have a lead.

Thanks

If you are going to fabricate your own supports for the windshield then I would suggest fabricating the hold down mechanism as well since they need to work together and it is not that fancy of a part.

As far as the knobs go - I've seen nice one with the puch logo on them - but you might be able to find something similar (without the logo) from a source like McMaster-Carr supply or similar.

You also might check with some of the European parts suppliers such as Haflingertechnic etc.

Here is the Steyr # for the Knobs with the Puch logo 7111721182 (fixing screw).
They are special order only as far as I remember.

They also don't fit into a Swiss - you will have to drill and tap the existing holes

They are direct fit on the Swiss units, I have put them on several trucks in the past.

If the knobs dont fit, I own a tap set ;)

I did have to drill and tap, maybe I had a unique frame or set of knobs.

Found a set of knobs ( CWR ) and still on the hunt for the inner brackets and the outer hinged pieces or I may have to fab something.
