Huh?? Why would you hope the buyer doesn't resell it for a profit? I don't get this.audiocontr wrote:Someone got a he'll of a deal. Hope they don't resell for a profit =(
1 It was an advertised sale, and open to everyone. Who wouldn't want to buy something at a good price? Whoever didn't buy it either didn't want to buy it or else was too late.
2 Buying low and selling high are somewhat accepted norms in a capitalist society. Why would it be wrong for one person to do the same?
3 Just because one person sold low, why should anyone be banned from profiting from that purchase? Are all 712s now supposed to be sold for 11K, just to avoid making a possible profit? If so, I've just lost money!
If you're just upset that someone else got it, well, as they say: Snooze ya lose.
Please help me to understand why it is wrong to buy a vehicle and resell it at a higher price. After all, it's what keeps used-car dealers in business.

I think maybe what he's trying to say is that it's sad to think that someone would buy a vehicle that the group loves solely out of consideration for the resale value.
Of course it's great that vehicles maintain resale value, and keep in business those who earn a living buying low and selling high - it keeps out favourite vehicles from ending up in scrapyards. However, the story pinzgauer sold for a great price would have a happier ending if it was sold to a budding enthusiast who would join the forum and keep the vehicle in good shape long into the future, rather than an unscrupulous car dealer looking for an easy buck.

Simple - I hope such a deal goes to someone who will personally enjoy the vehicle, not the cash by reselling.
