No affiliation, up on Bring a trailer -- a good example on how NOT to do a winch bumper.

Either a Green Bay Packer fan, or blind. That's my best two guesses.

The issue is where the Fair-lead (or Hawse) is located.
It has to be as low as possible near the 4 bolt mounts not high.
When mounted high there is a huge stress impressed on the
body and front mount due to mechanical advantage. Doors
have been known to pop open, and stress cracks form on the
body.

What you just showed is fine, that Fair-lead is mounted low.
The one on auction at Bringatrailer is located high -- it's a great
leaver multiplying the winch force to the truck.

Cold War Remarketing http://www.coldwarremarketing.com/
has some good pictures of Winch damage on their WEB site, click on Links
and scroll down.

It's a subtle point at first glance, then thinking about the forces applied
then it becomes obvious.

lots of rust to tackle. Hate the MOAB on the top. Would love it if it were full length

Its just the old style winch mount that was done a decade ago.
There are a bunch of trucks that have that design, I think part of the design/thought process was to raise winch up so it did not block airflow on an air cooled truck.
We all know (now) that that is not needed.
Easy fix - don't install the winch :)
With all that said, truck is still a poor example and I am surprised BaT even accepted it!

It doesnt look "that" bad, but still appears to be a DuPont rebuild a number of years old. Most likely needs a body-off serious refresh or it'll only get worse.
