Bizarre 710K

Post by VinceAtReal4x4s »

Just ran across this ad. Can't recall a more oddball butcher job. Nissan parts, including the front end...?? Can't imagine the hours spent. Gotta love that approach angle now plus the diamond plate "fenders". The good thing is the spotlight has its own cage.

Sad sight given how few K's are out there. ://

Maybe it will be nice until the diffs and transfer blow up with all the extra power, or when the next owner tries to figure out what parts are needed to fix something. Not to mention the growing number of cities that do smog testing and look for original equipment. In Ca. it would never pass any kind of testing.

But isn't it a 1975, so smog exempt in California ?

It is now
listed on eBay.

Shouldn't one be able to buy this and get it registered in California? I doubt there are pinzgauer experts at the DMV.

There's no way on earth that thing is making past the Ca. CARB BS. You can't even get a stock '75 registered unless it's almost by error, much less this, which is purely non-stock and ultimately above the cut-off date for a non-US auto. It would be a nightmare to own, trust me on that.

It's back on flEabay. I don't recall if he was throwing John Staluppi's name around before, but I see no reason that John Staluppi would have any interest in this sort of thing, seems like utter bs, like the claimed $50,000 in expense.
