Sure support the local economy - I am all for that (Bob was a made up name to make a point)
I was just saying that (Scott from EI) can charge more for a factory rebuild vs one he rebuilds himself - there is inherent value
If we were really worried about 'foreign countries' then I doubt we would be buying Austrian made vehicles?
Or is it ok because they are old??
Also note that I think the 712m in this thread looks like an Amzing vehicle - just to be clear about that and get us back on topic

Having witnessed the factory rebuilds in person, I can confidently say that no one anywhere, in any country, can possibly come close to the level that the factory goes to. They aren't restoring, they are delivering "new". Having said that, I fully agree and go out of my way to support the businesses in my own country.

Not buying Chinese crap is my main focus however. ;)

SAV's Austrian 712M (1996 SDP refurb) apparently sold in a week for $US24,900. Or pretty close.

Folks,

A few of you have contacted me about the 712M. I'm really torn about selling it but I really don't see a heighten level of use coming in the near future so perhaps it is time for a new owner to enjoy it.

Before I go the route of listing it on eBay, I'd prefer that one of you guys end up with it. Drop me an email (david.k.smith@gmail.com) if you're serious about buying a VERY nice 712M.

Thanks,

David

Another vehicle acquisition opportunity has presented itself so I'm a bit more motivated to sell my 712 now. Serious (as in it's not a distressed sale) inquiries only please!

Thanks,

David
