DC CONVERTER 24V - 12V

Post by berger »

This converter is similar to mine, but mine came from the UK. This unit will plug into the accessory plug on the pinz (the red adapter comes off), and allow you to use NA style accessory plugs for 12v items. Mine works very well mounted under the dash.

No connection to me.

I am not sure. I use it for my Garmin 60Csx and stereo. Both work fine.

looks alot like the one I got at big lots for $5 but mine does not have an on off switch and it has a max of 8amps(96W) Works good for a phone charger. I run my garmin nuvi on 24V just fine.

You can run a Nuvi on 24V? I had no idea..been using a 12V port that I would rather use for something else.

Yep just go to walmart autozone etc. and get a car power(lighter) outlet and wire to 24V like the aux outlet by drivers door and plug your standard nuvi cable in. I've done this with 255 265 etc without issue. I usually pick up acheap one o(20-$50) to leave in the pinz volvo etc and I've never had one burn out.

FYI I wouldn't cut the end off the cable and put a euro end on it as I think that is where there is a circuit board that handles the voltages.
