Do you have some carburetor parts- 140 main jet, 60 running?

Post by Bumber »

A friend bought 2 new NDIX36 carburetors from SAV for his 710M and will start off by using the existing jets (125) but he might need the 140 main and 60 running jets because he's at about 750 ft above sea level. He said he was told he'd be okay with the 125s, but If you swapped yours out and have them on the shelf and want to swap or trade them, send me a PM. I'll go check and see what he has on the old carbs for trade. Some of you guys in the mountains out west might have swapped out, or might need to.

(Note: they sell for cheap at EI, so I just thought I'd check and see if we can put them on the shelf just in case he needs to swap them out once he gets the new carbs and installs them and we'll take a wait-and-see approach)

At 750' that's only a 3% drop in mmHg -- ain't gonna notice a difference.
Now if that's 750 Meters of altitude, then maybe 140's would be better.

I have the 125's in my 710, it runs very well from sea level past 11,000 feet (highest I've been). I'm sure its a bit on the lean side at sea level, about right at 5500 feet where I live, and probably a bit rich at 11k, but it's never given me any mixture problems. Don't remember what the idle jets are. YMMV.

I just came from the shop and I took the covers off the old carbs. He's got 140's and 60's in them, so I'm just going to leave the 125s in his new ones for now, and rebuild the old carbs for stock. I can always swap jets if need be. Thanks for the input.
