Post by acebee »

anybody leaving for the treffen from So-Cal (San Diego/LA) area ?

driving all the way from Ramona in the 712M alone is kind of boring..

i am currently trying to leave 14th early afternoon (noonish) ..if possible..

have not booked the site as yet but will before departure. ( hope there will be one available for me ..)

Andre - are you coming to this treffen as we had planned or are you still in Michigan/travelling ?

Looks like I will make it out there Later Friday afternoon - into Havasu.

I might make it down to Parker before dark, might just wait until Saturday. I have a couple of issues to take care of in Havasu when I get there.
Boat is done at the fiberglass shop, need to inspect and pay and put back in garage.
Need to go get new washing machine and install
Need to hand a cold beer to anyone who comes by - let me know your favorite and I will try to have it... otherwise you get Coors Light... PM if you think you will come by and I will send you my phone number and directions to the fridge :D
Pinzing is AWESOME.

Looks like 3 or 4 will make it to Parker Wed noonish. Another one or 2 by dark. The park said that there is another off road club booked in the group area until Thursday so will play things by ear...

treffen

Post by krick3tt »

Got there a few days early...things that I was going to do on the way did not happen. Spent the first two days talking to the trees till someone showed up. The host put me in a spot, then when the official zoners showed it was not the spot that had been checked out before. Much confusion, but it all worked out...good times. Met lots of great people.
It did not take long into the second day trail run..(the one I did not go on due to some bad dessert the night before. I still blame Steve but on the flip side it really tasted good.) till one of the guys tipped his 712. He got an award for being the first. Hopefully one the guys with a camera will post the pics.
Had a good time, met new folks and got this great T-shirt.
Now in SD visiting family and will leave Sat to go back to Denver.

Cheers

I heard a rumor that it was my old truck that got to show off it's bottom side.

Was there an obstacle there or did the truck just get tired?

sorry for the jacked quote!

for a proven noobie like me, who is not yet even technical enough to understand this hobby ( but sure has buckskin mountain of fun doing it! ) there was..

a gouge on the hump {.. ergo see ?! } on the left
+ low range not engaged
+ diffies not engaged

i am sure others that went over the specific section can respond in technical terms

i would appreciate forum members that could refer me to articles that teach such terminology.

... and I came ssooooo close to going with you on that ride, if Wendys' neck was not bothering her, I might have.

As we all know it is a good thing I went the easy way with her as we got a flat on the way out there... easy fix for me at the time. Tire shop back in Havasu pulled the tire off the rim, and it was trashed on the inside, what ever I hit destroyed it.

Looking forward to the next gathering,

Ed,
Something that many of us with real lives just can't be bothered with.
