Anyone going to this? I will be there all 3 days. May 18-20. Looks like a good place to see some cool rigs.

Don't limit your photos to Pinzgauers. We know what they look like!
I'm an avid reader of Overland Journal and they also do some big story on the event even though their former editor (Jonathan) puts on the event with his wife. Looks like all kinds of oddball and weird stuff shows up from the four corners of the globe.

Yes, some interesting vehicles there, but not as many as you might think. I'll post some more pics when I get home.texas pinzgauer wrote:Don't limit your photos to Pinzgauers. We know what they look like!

Excellent photos!
As a Ural owner, I love seeing a 2wd Urals there too! Being a complete newb, are these expos just a showcase of trucks and gear, or do you guys go wheeling? Does the expo rotate around the US or is it always in the same place?

Re: overland expo 2012 Flagstaff Arizona
Mr. Zero and the AZ contingent can respond as they've attended, but this event (to my knowledge) was started by Jonathan Hanson and his wife Roseanne when he was on the full time staff of Overland Journal. I'm guessing that this is has gone on for 3 or 4 years and it happens in AZ as that's where the Hansons are based.
As you can see from their photos, the guys in AZ have countless offroading options so it's an ideal venue for overlanding types. Folks attend from all over the world (those who may be passing through from Germany to China or Alaska to Patagonia etc.) and the attendees are there for seminars, product demonstrations etc.
There's an event like this in Europe that's ben touched on in other posts as far as I know.

Re: overland expo 2012 Flagstaff Arizona
Overland Expo was held south of Tucson, AZ for the previous 3 years. For 2012 it was held at Mormon Lake, AZ, just southeast of Flagstaff where it will hopefully be held again next year (looking good at this point).berger wrote:Excellent photos!

As for the wheeling Land Rover and a pretty slick advanced course and a number of specific skills courses setup:
