Creekside Edge - Splendora, Texas (April 22nd)
I know it's last minute but Jim Sparkman and Professor Woodcock and several other folks are getting together on April 22nd for a morning of off-roading in Splendora, Texas at Creekside Edge. If any of you Texas gulf coast types care to join us, please drop me a line and we'll talk about timing and logisitics.

Timothy, those pictures deserve some explanation of just how stuck you were.

I'd like to hear it too. BTW, there's no way I'd knowingly drive my truck into that soup!

Was he stuck? It doesn't look that bad, but looks can be deceiving. The worst time I got "stuck" was in about one inch of spring mud - but with hard frost under the mud. It was like being on ball bearings. So yeah, let's hear the story!

Probably a simple explanation, like pulling into the swamp to help hide the engines heat signature from the recognizance drone.

Yes, I was very stuck. This mud hole looked exactly like all the other mud holes we splashed through that afternoon. But the mud in this hole was like pudding. I walked into the mud in front of the Pinz to see if there was a chance of going forward. I sunk to my waist in sticky gooey mud (I'd have sunk deeper but I grabbed on the front of the Pinz).undysworld wrote:Was he stuck? It doesn't look that bad, but looks can be deceiving. When I drove into the mud I started at a good clip expecting to bounce through a water puddle. I went from driving forward at speed to being at a dead stop faster than if I had hit the brakes. The front tires were not really touching anything. And the back tires were on slick mud.
We took my tow strap and attached Jim's Pinz to mine and he attempted to pull, then snatch me out, but it would mot budge. Finally, a guy came by with a 12000 lb winch. We still had to use a snatch block to get enough pull to pull it out. So.... Yes, it was stuck.
I wish I had taken more pictures of the recovery, but by then I was covered with mud and was tired and grumpy.
