Trail Clean-up

Post by berger »

Even though we have had some serious heat this summer, we have had a few flash storms and micro-bursts which have dropped power in some areas and brought down trees over some of the 4x4 trails. So this past Sunday I headed out on a clean-up run with a local 4Wheelin club I am joining. The idea was to clean up some trash and clear a single downed tree...but it turned into a little more than one tree!

Start of trail...

The tree we came to slay...

So that is what a high lift is for....

The way is clear!

All proud of ourselves and the good deed we had just done, we get rolling down the trail. 50 yards down, and around the bend, we find this.... Two deadfalls, both about 2.5 feet in diameter.

Out came the chainsaws...again...

Two hours of cutting and winching the logs away....

This time the club left its mark....

Now for some trail shots...

Great shots!

I second the motion on the use of the Hi-Lift...love it! I have never seen that before.

Ah yes...another shamelessly ripped-off idea to store in my bag of tricks
