I will be at the Expo, but not in my Pinzgauer, as I am restoring it right now...I will definitely be on the look out for Pinzgauers.
OX14, I might be there with my Pinzgauer.

@drudruisme
you have a lot of work ahead of you to even be ready by the '14 expo. I am anxious to see the outcome based on your description of the work you are planning on the 710K. You need to start a thread to document your work on your K. I am sure there are plenty here who would have an interest in your progress, I know I do.

If you make this years expo, look me up. would like to talk to you about your build. AKA 6x6pinz

Looking at getting some details nailed down for this trip.

When would those coming in from out of town/state be arriving in Phoenix area?

Are there specific sites you would like to see. If you have seen/read something about a particular area that you have an interest in we can work that into the route.

Do you have limitations:
how often are stops going to be required
trail limitations, some of the nicer trails in Sedona are rated difficult (not really for a pinz)
do you have a trailer in tow
any thing that we might need to plan around.

We are getting very excited about this and looking forward to the trip to the expo as much as the expo.

At this point the plan is west on 70 to Moab, back to 70 and then to Green River and down to Goblin Valley. Then 95 to 191 to 163 to Flagstaff area.
I am sure there will be more research about things to see on the way. Will be towing a small trailer behind the 710 and probably tenting along the way.

Will be leaving a week before the OE to get in the sights on our route. Not planning hard core trip, just enjoy the views.

Happy trails,
Morris

The Pinz is just back from SB (much thanks to Jim Laguardia and a great drive home through the Mojave NP!). Had hoped to make time for a longer trip to OX, but at this point we'll be pulling out of LV Wednesday, early a.m. then taking our time rolling up to Flag. Pulling in Wednesday afternoon to Du Beau, beers at Lumberyard (and elsewhere I'm sure), then off to OX Thursday morning, hangover be damned!

Maybe a pre-OX meetup in Flagstaff Wednesday night for those in town by then?

We will be leaving Denver Tomorrow morning. Expect to be in Grand Junction by evening. Probably be in Moab Monday.
May not see anyone till OX on Thursday or Wed night. I have been offered a beer at a local watering hole.

Camping in Moab area Monday night. Horsethief Camping area or close, not in town.
Then to Goblin Valley for a day or two then on to OX. Can't rush through all that Utah has to offer as we don't get there too often.

I am driving a pinz...it's not too fast.

It was another great OX event with good company. We had the opportunity to meet Morris and Deidre and catch up with Bernhard and Michelle. We didn't take as many photos this year as last due to the fact that we stayed busy with the hands-on advanced courses for much of the time. However, here's a few:

Some cool Landcruisers in there. I'd have the LWB bent window one in a heartbeat.

How do you like your Vehicross?

The VX is a great truck. It made it into production largely unchanged from the concept vehicle, including the race oriented suspension, so it's capable of relative high speeds when the trail allows. Truth be told the Pinz has been my daily driver since I got it so the VX doesn't get the love it used to.

there were actually 6 pinzgauers (3-710K's, 2-712M's and 1- 710M)and one haflinger at this event. My first time at the event and while the mix of vehicles was very interesting I was surprised at how few vendors there were that dealt with camp life. I have to say the Couch Engineering display was by far my favorite, man would I love to pilot one of those rigs.

Looks like a fun event with lots of other vehicles for a good mix.
