Nevada Trophy 2013

It could be fun to put together a Pinzgauer team or two for this event.

Awesome  . I'll shoot you a PM so we can start organizing "Pinzgauer Team Ein".

It would be great to get at least a second Pinzgauer team out there to show up what appears to be a very Land Rover heavy field.

Do we know yet if this will be Northern Nevada this year?
Couldn't find a location on the flyer or website.

I'm assuming so, but not sure. If/when I receive any further information I'll make a point to update the OP.

Did you end up going? I'd love to attend one of these events to compete. I'm in northern CA and have 25 years of offroad driving experience but never had to do much navigation work. Keep me in mind if this comes up again.

Unfortunately, no. I was recovering from a concussion at that time and wasn't able to drive.

I'd definitely like to pursue it again next year.

Not sure about putting the pinz in but sure would like to attend. I'll bring pom poms, maybe even wear my kilt.

From the flyer it does look to be very LR heavy.

"NEVADA TROPHY, the most copied event in North America… is scheduled for
February 14 - 16, 2014 in North-Western Nevada."

Keep me posted on this. With your 710 and Bernhard's 712 it would be a great event.
Just checked the distance from Denver ... just about 1000 miles. Might be a bit far, we'll see.

February 14 - 16, 2014 in North-Western Nevada."
North-Western Nevada, In February..... in a Pinzgauer???

Any one ever driven from Reno to Elko in the winter? (besides me, yearly Christmas trip Reno to Grand Targhee, ID).... and
want to do it in the Great Basin where nothing stops the wind.... in their Pinz?

I want to meet these hardy soles!

For what it's worth, Old Farmer's Almanac:
Annual Weather Summary: November 2013 to October 2014
Winter will be much snowier than normal, with near-normal rainfall. The snowiest periods will be in late November, early and mid-December, mid- and late January, mid-February, and early March. Temperatures will be below normal in the north and near normal in the south, with the coldest periods in mid-December, mid- and late January, and in early to mid-February.

Well then...that settles it. A 1000 mile trip in a pinz to get to cold and snow? Not bloody likely. Got that in Colorado.

have fun guys....but still. It is a LR type event. Apparently they are a hardy lot.
