The VOT is starting to build quite a following here.
Did any forum members attend in 2013?

I just watched a video of some if the run, and saw at least 1 Mog (Vermont plates) and a nice looking orange Pinz (reg unknown)

If you attended, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I also belong to the Expedition Overland forum and the Midwest Overland Society Facebook page. A number of guys from our group went, had a ball, and posted lots of pictures. I've resolved that I want to go next year. You have to have a two truck/ man team. Wanna go?

I've been following the info on the Expedition Portal, and it appears the 2014 run is booked.

From what I can gather, it's a cool event, but has been attracting a bunch of Jeeper yahoos.. But that is just what I gather and would to hear the opinion of a participant, without the backlash they can get over at the ExP. The back-and-forth on limiting tire size and campfire revelry is a bit.. much.

My truck is in mid-restore now.. and I'm not sure a tiny Hafi would be great at winching out a Pinz. It's the closest event to me.. I could drive there from my house.

Since there have been some portal axle vehicles in the past, I'd love to hear the "skinny."
