Calico Mogfest 2014 Oct 10th to 12th

Post by David Dunn »

It is that time of year again to plan for Mogfest
It is scheduled for Oct 10th to 12th.

Everything else is as it has been in the past (except hopefully for Alan's 3 hour tour   )

Still at the KOA, just off the freeway on
the western offramp to Calico.

Call for reservations during the week and ask for Donna

Yeah, if you didn't count to make sure all trucks got back, there just might be one stranded on a desert isle somewhere... Hope they have supplies for a year's worth of Mogaritas!

I can't believe anyone went away hungry! To coin a phrase "It was the best of times, it was the Mogfest of times..."
Doesn't get much better than Mogfest.

Nah, we're all happy getting drunk there
Many of us think of Mogfest as a family reunion, and Calico is centralize for people to meet.... Beside, it wouldn't be old until Alan can't get us lost   :P

Great! I have been waiting for the date to get posted hoping it didn't conflict with
work stuff early Oct. Well frankly I hope Alan brings his busted compass again -- getting
lost was fun :P

Hey, I may even get some tinted glass for the Mozo -- right Dave

Alan always gets lost... or he's just trying to get me lost and leave me out there.

At the rate it's going, it might be Mogfest before I see any glass
I have been "promised" the glass would be here by Friday... that was last Friday and every "this" Friday for the last 8 weeks !
My last call was this morning.... I'm just waiting for a thread with my name on it for flaky vendors

High blood pressure is the price I'm paying to keep prices down..
time for me to buy a new bp monitor... my old one only goes to 3 digits

Though it still seems a long ways off, Mogfest is in 3 1/2 weeks, and its time for a head count for Saturday's BBQ ( which they estimate at $10 to $15 head).
Also they also like an idea what some are bringing for the potluck dinner on Friday, so we don't end up with 50 lbs of potato salad.

If you haven't made reservations yet, I know last year, there were no vacancies at the KOA

A repost from Alan..

This weekend is the "Original" MogFest in Yermo, CA, in and around Calico
Ghost Town. I am a little late in letting everyone know but we did get a
Taco guy for Saturday dinner and the pot luck will be Friday as planned.
The catered Saturday dinner will be $12 per adult (children negotiable but
probably $8) which covers coffee in the mornings at Joe's trailer and
Mogaritas Friday and possibly Saturday evening as long as the supplies hold
out.

For those of you that are new to the event the is a small store at the KOA
as well as showers, a pool, laundry, etc and just across the highway is an
AM/PM Minimart and a Jack-in-the-box. There will be a small group of hard
core wheelers lead by Joe in his newly rebuilt swing set Mog but most
typically choose to go on the more scenic Big Truck run that normally winds
around the back side of Calico and then we get lost and spend the rest of
the afternoon trying to find camp. Bring lots of water, lunch stuff, shade
as it will most likely be warm, and plan to have fun.

See you there!
