Nordic Tour

Twelve countries (not including Scotland and England) the arctic, volcanoes, geysers, glaciers fjords, lakes and forests, sea cliffs, midnight sun........

Well into the planing for this epic adventure.

As the plan stands this will be the Pinzgauer's final big trip with me. On return it will be up for sale so someone else can have some fun!

I would welcome suggestions of places to visit from anyone who has travelled through Denmark, toured Iceland, stopped off at the Faroe islands, travelled into Arctic Norway, Sweden and Finland.

Of course I will be documenting the trip and hope to produce a photo book and possibly a DVD of the journey.

Sounds like a great trip!
Why does the Pinz go after this trip - just curious how you reached that decision?
Cheers and I look forward to your photo documentation!

Dan

I do a lot of trips, but often not in the Pinzgauer because it lacks the speed and economy of something newer. The decision has been made to utilise the Pinzgauer where it performs best on rough gravel roads with un-bridged rivers at a relaxed pace and then for future trips get a more road orientated camper.

I have had my Pinzgauer 10 years, that's longer than any other vehicle (except pedal bikes) I have a saying "stop while the going's good" and I'm applying that to the truck :D

Photo book/s yes, there are so many amazing landscape and wildlife pictures, the video files will take a lot of editing work but I will do a short fun film.

Perhaps one thing that was a little disappointing was the weather as Iceland had one of its coldest and wettest Summers ever so not too many bright days or blue skies.

So some more photos from Scandinavia. In Norway we had a small breakdown with the original HT leads failing. I had one fail last year so diagnosed it pretty quick. Lovely spot to breakdown though right next to the fjord. Only problem was DHL taking 6 days to get the parts to us (so much for next day express)

The roof hatch was great for ventilation once in warmer countries like southern Finland.
