Do Haffie steering link/tie rod ends have any "play"?

I had a little fun with ATV tires today, and notice movement on the driver side front with the tread, while nothing on the passenger. It appears the steering link/tie rod ball joints have some movement in them. They look wonderful, no tears, almost perfect, but still have some play in their movement. Is that normal?

If not, where can i source new ball joints?

They should have no slack in them. I recently replaced mine that I purchased from a VW independent parts seller - similar to what you linked. Also check the steering relay mounted on the front of the front diff - the bearing sleeve in them wears and this could be where the movement is rather than the steering rod ends.
