Hi Jim,

Or you've found a nest of them or you must be breeding them!

Regards

Jacques

P.S. Any news about your 8" wide rims with access holes for the brakes?

The red one has me writing an article for my next website update
And yes, the blue one is a long wheel base AP703 and by engine number is 2nd vehicle made after the red one, mine is the newest of the three with engine number 417 newer and production date of 11/71
The part that is interesting is while mine (with DOT label)has breakers, the other two have fuses which I interpret as Canadian build(no DOT label)
As for the grass, it does disappear rapidly if the Haffy's get restless

Miles i could have phrased it a little better. Jim, I think i like the looks of the shorter wheel base better. are the tranny and engine the same between the two. would the model of yours be 417, or would it start with AP417

With gas prices what they are right now i imagine the haffy goes to the grocery store more than the pinz these days.

Tranny and engine are the same, the central tube is longer on the 703.
I was suprised at how close the engine numbers were given the rarity of the NA models.

I really like LWB Haffy's!
I used to do trips in the 70's and 80's with a mate in his LWB and my SWB and we never came across a situation where the 703 couldn't go because of the additional 300 mm in the wheelbase.....and it slightly more stable in various situations.
The real hoot is when you have them fully loaded up with six adults and they just keep going the same as any Haffy!
I now own that 703 and along with my 700 I hope to start restoring them both in the not too distant future!

Pics... Hmmm OK, not quite as easy as my Pinny trips.
I have boxes of slides and plenty of 8mm X 3 minute movie (there were no digital camera's in the 70's and 80's and I never really took a lot of photographs because the slides were much better to show at Haflinger Club meetings etc) but I'II see what I can find.
My old scanner was meant to accept slides but I always got lousey results and I don't think my new one does them at all, but maybe I'II see what the camera shop can do!

In the meantime, this is my 700

...and this is my 703
