haflinger dimensions

Post by SAM. C. »

Hello All

Could someone tell me the distance between the centre of the back wheel and the furthest point of the rear on a SWB Haffly please?

I am trying to see if I can fit one on a 1 tonne Toyota Trayback pickup. I can find out the width and length alright but this dimension is a bit elusive.

I was thinking of backing it on to get some of the weight forward and nudging it up against the headboard but I want to make sure the front wheels will still sit on the bed.

Thanks Chaps

It can only be loaded into a pick up bed facing backwards or the rear wheels will be on the open tail gate.
I have seen 1 in the back of a Toyota Tacoma, but it can mess up the tail gate during loading, unloading.

The distance(without hitch if equipped) is 26"

Hi Sam,
I've put a Haflinger in the 8ft box of a Chevy pickup. It just fit in that length with the front wheels of the Haf sitting on the tailgate. Jim is correct in saying the tailget gets a severe beating from the venture.
