Jim,
It looks great!!! To what extent are the mods likely to benefit? Are you going to do any formal testing?

Cheers,
Greg

Greg, early engines had a 1 barrel carb with #3 cam.
This cam is great for top end power, but lacks in the low and mid-range rpms.
Going to the #5 cam you improve the power curve from idle to full out and with the forged pistons, the engine can operate well past the factory 4500rpm redline

To make up for the extra few cc's , slightly higher compression pistons and decked heads, the carb has also been modded internally.
Venturies are upsized from 32-22 sleeves to 32-24mm sleeves to increase airflow , carbs are also re-jetted .

End result is at least 8-10hp gain.
The final results will be gauged by the size of Ricks smile after his test drive
now back to the albatross.................................................. :)

I take it the albatross is my Volvo  . I saw the reply to your question on the Yahoo group, but if it wasn't helpful, you might try posting to the Volvo forum on this site as well.

Cheers,
Greg
