Hi There from New Member

Post by petri oosthuizen »

Good Day Gents

Thought it might be good manners to introduce myself before firing away with all sorts of questions and posts.

I'm 49 years old from Bethlehem, South Africa. Married to Mariza with 4 kids, Bea (11), Sev (12), Jomar (16) and Elzar (17).

I'm a used car dealer, have been all my life (since 1991), and we live on a little game farm just outside town where I am priviledged to enjou the wide open spaces with my 4x4's.

I have bought the 1971 Pinzie about 3 months ago, and absolutely LOVE the car!!!

Will post some pics later.

Anyway, thanks for having me on this Forum, it looks VERY informative!!

Welcome! Are there many Pinzgauers in South Africa? I remember reading only about one owner over the last 10+ years. I think there were more Haflingers there?

Haf, I know of 4 Pinzies in SA. Mine included.

There are some Hafs - but most of them are VERY neglected.

Welcome. It's always nice to see the Pinz in it's "natural habitat" they like to be driven and prefer slow and staying off the beaten path.. I've had mine for about a year and I love it. I am impressed every time I take it out. I'm currently building it out for Search and Rescue use and am very careful not to put all of the receipts in one place so I don't know how much I'm actually spending..

I've owned a lot of cars (my other two current vehicles are a Ford Raptor and a BMW Z4) but NONE of them have put a smile on my face the way the Pinz does, every single time I drive it.

Cheers,
Ben
