Driving my C303 inside a VR game I am making

Post by MadMax »

Ive been making a huge 8192m 3D environment using the Unity game engine, with mountains and trees, etc. I am working on a model of my volvo so I can drive it all around in there, but anyone else can too, even with a VR headset. This is a very early screen shot

This is a different truck, but a working one which I am learning to do the physics and scripting with.

here is another of the environment (the red square is 256m for scale)

and a video another person did of them surfing down the mountain

Environment looks really great - the surf guy needs a bit more work :)
Looks like a fun way to eat up hours upon hours of time - I used to be a gamer and know how a quick
session turns into a day

Its a living, sometimes. :) Mostly its just a lot of learning and making a lot of mistakes...oddly similar to owning/fixing the real c303. :)

Very cool. My son is studying his CS in Real Time Interactive Simulation degree at DigiPen. I'll show this to him, he'll enjoy it [WINKING FACE]

I worked at Xbox for 9yrs so he comes by it honestly.

I'm in MICROSOFT Research now and getting ready to move over to Surface.

and this of the interior, you can see the dash controls a little bit, which are made from photos I took of mine.

This finished one will be driveable, working dpprs, driving/top/dash lights, 2/4x4, page up down gearbox, multiple camera & cockpit views, engine sounds, dirt and track effects.
