Need ideas on finding an east coast surplus Humvee (H1)

Post by VinceAtReal4x4s »

Hey guys, I'm looking for ideas on where to find an ex-military four-door H1 to rent late this spring on the east coast. The more beat-up looking, the better.

I'll be making a "proof of concept" short film to attract investment in a full movie and a Humvee appears in it for a few scenes. I'd need to rent/borrow it for a week or so in rural Virginia. I can probably have a friend haul it or I can drive it although it doesn't need to be road legal.

A ton of these have been sold recently via gov-planet so I know several thousand are floating around out there.

Maybe if its close enough, You could go there to do your project. Maybe they would let you film one. Just a thought.

Thanks but I have to have it under my complete control for a few days at my location. I've been to GovPlanet out near Barstow.. tons of Humvees out there, plus a great condition camo 406 U900 Unimog with the backhoe/shovel set-up the last time I went by.

I have found a few on the SS site. Hope to shoot in late May if all goes well.

Thanks.
