Finally have my Pinz

Post by Jake2015 »

After a couple of years, reading through posts, asking stupid questions, and failing in several tries to buy one, I am now the proud owner of an Austrian 712K purchased from Scott at Expedition Imports.

Scott was excellent to work with and if he has what you want, I encourage you to do business with him.

I also have to take this opportunity to extend my deepest thanks to 4x4Pinz, AKA Mike. Not only did he help me learn many things over the last two years, as did many members of South West Pinzgauer Association, but he gave his time and expertise to go to Expedition Imports, check out the Pinz, and be my co-driver to bring it home. Many thanks Mike!

I hope to do a full review of the 712K as I know I searched fruitlessly to find much information and I suspect I'm not the only one. I also hope to document as I do some conversions, but that will be a bit later.

Thanks to Vince for this great for great forum and all of you that contribute your knowledge and opinions.

that one does not have the coding "Fü US" on the front like Jake2015's has. Still not sure what it stands for but my guess is not something I could type out here.

TüPlA is the abbreviation for "Truppenübungsplatz Allentsteig", one of the largest exercise areas in central Europe

Oh yes thanks for that!... There is no way I would ever be able to remember that and or spell it as an American! Lol.
My wife is German from Weiden in Bavaria!... I took a screenshot of it I'll have her pronounce it for me and I will practice it till it's memorized!!! Lol!
