Since they only make rounded, plastic, pretend 4x4's these days, I guess many fans won't care too much where they end up eventually. That new Defender coming sounds like a little larger Freelander, which was more car than anything else.

No - next month is 70th Anniversary of Land Rover so the new model is for that.

Given how Rover has been kicked around the planet from owner to owner since 2000.
I guess that was Rover's Y2K moment -- sadly. Going from ---
BMW -> Ford -> Tata it's no wonder how they lost their original mission :(

Well, at least Ford did the Bronco :wink:

I never could understand why they haven't made a US legal version of the Defenders. With the massive interest in 4wd vehicles here they would sell like hotcakes.

No they break down to much, leak oil everywhere . They have a name but one who ownes one after some years they want to sell it.... its an icon but you have lovers and you have haters, same as the pinzgauer i gues :?
