One of the last projects I had planned for this 712 is a Overhead Console. I find
the "M" tight on space for added electronics so thus the need for an overhead.

It's done but waiting for the ICOM IC-7100 Transceiver which is on back-order.
You will see a cavity where the Radio control head will be mounted.

I also added several Gauges I find very useful; AFR, Exhaust Pyrometer on #3,
Cylinder Head Temp on #2 (ala Porche 911 style), Oil Pressure, and Aux Battery
Voltage meter. Oh, and a back-up Camera which is almost necessary in traffic,
given the limited rear view in a 712.

This was fabricated from 0.128 and 0.090 Aluminum stock. I decided to braze
in the Gauge mounting panel. In retrospect I'm getting a spool gun and some
Argon. Did all the bends on a Swag Off Road Finger brake.

Just FYI, the Bosch Oil Pressure switch can be replaced with a VDO pressure
sender that supports both a pressure switch and an analog output for the Gauge.
The body size of this unit is about 1.5" in diameter -- it may or may not fit,
expect some interference with the Oil dip stick tube. I did have to elongate the
mounting hole -- a bit of a tight fit but OK. Note the thread is M10 x 1 K.
The "K" designates a tapered thread similar to NPT. So thread dope no washer.
