Hi all,
Want to introduce myself. My name is Kelvin. I just received my pinz yesterday. A 1971 710K. It arrived from Ohio. The previous owner had it since 2002, and prior to that it was in the Swiss Army I believed. Was able to register it fine today, thought it was going to be the biggest hurdle. I've had it about 24 hours and I have had to talk to random strangers more than I've driven it.
I find this forum to be truly valuable to learn the idiosyncrasies of the pinz and how to fix them. I have a list of things to do already and questions that have been answered by the search function in this forum.
It's next event will be Laguna Seca Cars and coffee tomorrow. I better brush up on the pinz history as I'm sure it will come up.
One neat thing that happened, I was driving the pinz around the neighborhood and apparently one of my neighbor, he used to be in the swiss army years ago. When he saw the Pinz, he was quite ecstatic. Actually his whole family were. I think it's great to have a vehicle that not only brings joy to the one who owns it but also to others.
Thanks
Kelvin
