Post by ScottishPinz »

Truck got shunted! Neighbour's car reversed into left side pushing Pinz into wall and destroying wall! Off to Pinz hospital soon for repairs.

Firstly.....Obviously it wasn't a slight tap, to do that much damage (knock down the brick wall) .... What's the impact side of the your vehicle look like?
Secondly.... Is the neighbour still alive?
I doubt whether they would be if they'd done that to my Pinny

I trust it will look as good as new when repaired!

In the pic the pinny looks pretty good considering it took out a brick wall

Most of the impact force went from the left front wheel, through the drive/steering/suspension to the other wheel, body damage is minimal but I've yet to get it checked to see if its straight. BMW got a really big dent in its boot (trunk) from the side rubbing rail which has split and broken. The wheel arch on the Pinz also has a dent in it.

OK so I have the repair estimate for my truck...
New Rub Strip part 713 183 0111
New Door Lower part 711 176 0022
Body needs repair and repainted where damaged
and because the tyres took such a blow to the sidewalls these are to be replaced as well.

Good news is the mechanicals seem to have survived undamaged. I just hope in years to come I don't get problems!

The whole lot will cost over £2000 to put right.

Just got to wait now for the insurance to authorise the repair.
