I have a source willing to provide ALL NEW HUB CENTRIC, 8"widened steel
wheels with brake adjuster access. Imagine just having to only lift
the tire to adjust the brakes instead of having to remove it and the
drum for normal adjustment intervals. These easy access rims can also
help speed up diagnosis of some brake faults. The estimated cost is
less than $175 ea no exchange. If there is enough interest I can make this happen.

As I posted on yahoo I would be interested in 6 since they are steel.

Hello Jim,

Is there a way you could maybe put up a picture or an idea of how they will look? Are the rims build to fit tubeless tires? For what load will they be allowed to? If all of that looks nice, I'll go thru the expenses and order 14 of them and have them shipped to Europe. Original Swiss army green color would be perfect.

Regards,

Jacques

Yes, Yes...pictures...and that other stuff that Jacques wrote.
Sounds like a great idea Jim.
I still remember the idea that you gave me at Calico about bending back my bent up rim with a pipe wrench and a big hammer, it still holds air (tubeless). Steel is the way to go.

Here is a picture of the prototype, it will use regular lug nuts instead of the stock acorn nuts and all the holes will be round as it is more cost effective.
As far as finish, they will probably be OD green.

Jim,

I sent you a PM and an e-mail in regards to these rims and didn't get a reply. I thought I'd try you on the thread...
Any idea how heavy these rims are or will be? I am interested in five, but, like Jacques, the cost of shipping to Toronto would be a concern for me.

Thanks,
Bob
