Here in Wisconsin (Indian for "Land of No Pinzgauer"), I do my own repairs (with a fair amount of help from my friends, some German-car mechanics). I don't have the luxury of any Pinzgauer specialist nearby.
With the Repair Manual and the Parts Manual, you can do many/most repairs, in my opinion. I've had good success.

Love it...........
It is fun to work on the Pinz . . . . . I have not had much to do since I have only put about 2000 miles in 4 years on it.....
Pinzing is AWESOME.

I do some things: brakes, adjusting lights, balancing carbs, changing fluids, taking things apart and putting them back on. My Dad used to say "If people made it, people can fix it'.
I will have to say that sometimes diagnosing what exactly is wrong is a real problem for me. Like now, I have an issue with a vacuum leak that makes the revs go up and for the life of me I don't know where to start to look for the place it might be. I am leaving for NWMF tomorrow so someone there may be able to put me on the right track.
I really don't have the place to do all the work I would like. The drive slopes and the pinz won't fit into the garage.
I want to have the 2.2 L engine converted to 2.7 L and I will pick up the parts from Scott (EI) at NWMF. I am hoping to get Jim L. to do that for me.
