Now that you brought that up, why do I get this picture of a "Low Rider" sans batteries and hydraulics? Can you picture a 12 or even a 710 for that matter at the red light bob up and down?

Just sort of struck me funny. I'll get my stuff and leave now.

That hydro/air system wins the "best new Pinz upgrade award" if you ask me! Well next to the Mattracks kit of course!

Awesome, love it!

- I'd be interested in how the system actually works, technically speaking.
- How fast does it fully air up from it's lowest air down point?
- Has a 712 setup been tested yet?
- Are there any tire size clearance issues when aired through it's range?
- Is there any additional stress put on OEM components while in use?
- How much drilling/modifying must be done for installation?
- Regarding air source, can a compressor/tank be used in lieu of CO2?

Thanks and keep up the great work!

Pinz Air.

Very cool I too love it, I'd also like to ad on to swiss army toys questions, since I run off road tours and am running full at times have you tested the bags deflated with a load to simulate a leak or bag failure, my concern would be getting a full load of 13 passengers back out of the forest with that much weight on board riding on bumbstops, sounds like an "E" ticket ride to me, this also being said what it the likelyhood of a 712 set up, Im getting a bit tired of replacing tires every 15 months or so, and the idea of plumb tires for even wear is great.

I definitely want those airsprings on my Pinz 710k
Have you measured how high the Pinz is when fully aired down?

Have you got an idea how much a set would be?
and btw. where are those rims from which are mounted on the "lowrider"

greetings from Austria

I was asked about a 712 setup...
The first system designs are based on the 710s. We have started looking into at a 712 system, but this will take us a bit longer since both of our trucks currently are 710s.

SwissArmyToy:
-These air systems try to mimic the stock spring rate as close as possible, one option with these systems is to leave them at a set pressure which gives the closest ride to a stock setup. PM me if i'm not answering the right question
- We are currently running 1/4" lines (small ones) and can pretty much raise the vehicle in around 30 seconds if needed. This can be tweaked to be faster (Down around 6 seconds is possible).
- See above
- We are currently running custom rims with wrangler MTRs we havn't had a problem with tire rub through our range of motion. I'll need to get back with a list of tire sizes that work with the system.
- The air system utalizes much of the existing mountings which are non moveable, spacers and other components are replaced with newly designed ones. From what we have seen on our system, we havn't had any indications of additional stress.
- Stock limiting straps will need to be modified by a cut in the bushing, the front requires a small cut for space to fit the front shock mount. If air lines are to be run, they will need to be routed and secured.
- Air is air, I don't see why a compressor/tank can't be used instead of CO2. You will want to consider what pressures your compressor/tank is capable of.

Pinz Enthusiast:
The Pinz is a great vehicle for running tours, there is a guy around here that uses a 710 for tours of the area.
- We have used our 710 to haul, what we felt was a decent amount of weight (full bed of gravel), for this we adjusted the rear pressure and it was fine.
- I would agree, riding without any suspension (on the bumpstops) is not comfortable. I'd think the best way to tackle this one is keep a spare air bag or two with you. we have kept repacments on our truck just in case but have never needed them.

gunnar/ka:
- Off the top of my head I don't remember the exact distance, I'll get back to you.
- Working on pricing...
- The rims are from Taylor Made Wheels in Southern California.

On a side note about air bags and their potential,I've used them on many motorhomes and trucks. The moment that comes to mind was a Ford Ranger extended cab 4x4 that I had loaded with various types of masonry debris to go to the dump. It was sagging a lot in the rear so I threw some air to the bags and it leveled right out.Headed off to the dump,...acceleration was way off and it seemed to take a mile to stop...
Weighing in before and after came up with a difference of 2300 lbs! Crap! It was rated at 1/2 ton but even that is a stretch for a baby truck...
The thing is that air bags can support a buttload of weight and the air pressure for that Ranger wasn't even 60 lbs.

Well gotta go,my Swedish friend is calling to me....(see new toy below).....
