First off, around here, we refer to that person as the Ranch Manager.

And secondly, there are some topics that are just permanently off limits. I'll start selling cars when she starts selling shoes.

As far as my wife is concerned since she dosent buy me these toys she has no right to tell me to do anything with them...case closed...I love her with all my heart however I will not be told what I can and cannot do...she understands that about me so we are good togeather..last surprise was the pinz arriving on a car carrier she heard the air airbrakes of the delivery vehicle looked at the 3 vehicles on the carrier and stated...let me guess...perhaps that pinzgauer belongs to you??? yup..my reply...she shook her head...and said Ill get my jacket..lets ride!!!!!!

First off...that is a slippery slope.

The pinz has been referred to as 'The other woman'. This relatively non-monogomous (material thing) arrangement keeps me sane.
The Mog did the same thing but when the pinz came on the scene I had to let the Mog go. Can't find the time of money to keep both.

My money, my time, my indulgence and it is often used for hauling the 'family' stuff so it pays its way. It is the mobile version of the 'man cave'.

It's mine and I'm not giving it up for anything. I have met some of the greatest people in my life through this vehicle.

I think you may have touched a cord.

You bring up an interesting angle. I have some "vehicle toys" that include two Steyr-Puch Haflingers and a Volvo C303. My wife enjoys going on outings in them, so we don't have a conflict other than when I block the driveway. She wants a jet ski this summer--as long as I get that, I don't expect any issues.

On the issue of "toys" however, there are other things such as my fly fishing equipment--which is of course a necessity--that comes up from time to time. She will ask, "Why do you need so many rods and reels?" The necessity argument doesn't work with her, so it is useful to ask such critical questions as, "Why do you need so many shoes?" That results in a stalemate which seems to work. We practice detante--if I want to buy fishing gear, I need to look the other way when she goes clothes shopping

Cheers,
Greg

How about one of these for when the snow is a little too deep for the Pinz?

Well I have to say I am glad to Read these. My wife Is a trooper for putting up with me and all of the Kit I have. Not to say there have been some tense time over new items in the garage or drive way.
6 rigs, 1 Bike, 1 side by side and I bought the Pinz while I was deployed.....people I know said Why, Hell why not! If I make it out of the god forsaken place I have something new to look forward to. She dosent like all of my toys at first but she generally warms up to them after a few trips.

So we do all have commen ground here
Hell, lets just wing it and see were we end up!

Robin,

Nice ride. Which suspension does your car have?

One of the owners near me also has an original Cobra. I try to keep from drooling on it.

Radar4xfour,

I like the Bombi. I want (need) one for my backyard ski run.

I wouldn't count on that Dave. What about all the "hidden costs" that may or may not come to light for years?
