New owner in North Carolina !

Post by Jack Russell Racing »

Just wanted to say hello. After being smitten with the Pinzgauer bug out in Colorado, I just had to have one myself. Mine is a bone stock 710M, but my son and I have already fitted a VIC-1 intercom system, and I've got a brush bar from Andre (fatfabrications) already in production. E-track rear belts are on order from EI, and we're having a lot of fun already. Got a wee bit muddy this weekend and quickly learned how the levers work ;)

Truck came from another great Pinzgauer resource, but I'm not sure of the politics on EI's own board -- but suffice to say, I was very very happy with the transaction.

Welcome to the forum and congrates on the Pinz. There are others of us with Pinzies in NC. I have had my 710M for 5 years.
There is also a 712 in Cary.

Yup, lots of pinz down there including all of them owned by scream time zip line.

Lots of good headphones and comms! Looks like its in good shape.

First accessory you need is Pinz4x4's center console dog house cover. Most practical addition ever!

Thanks for the kind words. We had the Pinz down on a friend's farm near the Yadkin river last weekend. Nice soft mud, 7' tall corn rows, an some kids in the back just having a grand time. It was a pretty safe place to learn the capabilities of the vehicle, as we had a massive Deere tractor at our disposal if we needed a tug or push. Happily, we didn't need any assistance, and the mud was terrific fun (but a PITA to clean). I'd like to try Uwharrie, but I cannot imagine how long it'd take to get there from Winston-Salem. Do NC owners get together for those kinds of outings?

Yesterday I got e-track installed, and I'm just waiting on safety belts now. Cutting e-track with a rotozip steel wheel was actually pretty easy.

FWIW, the VIC-1 is fantastic. Although we get odd stares on the road, the headsets effectively cut out a ton of engine drone and make normal conversation quite possible.

There have been a few talks about getting together but no action. I was driving mine from Durham to the outer banks every year till this year. There is always next year.

The Pinz absolutely gets more head-turning and walk-up questions wherever I park it. Second place goes to the Aston-Martin. Ferrari is a very very distant third --- I think because people assume Italian exotic cars are all owned by d-bags.

The Gallardo belongs to a local customer of mine who came by the office for lunch on Friday. (I own a little internet business that sells Ferrari/Maserati/Lamborghini parts)

A forum member made a bunch up. I don't recall who. May take some searching, or better yet hopefully somebody who bought one will chime in.
