Neglected Pinz Contest - post them if you've got them

Post by TechMOGogy »

OK - so it is the end of March and normally I would have already started working on my Hafi but oh no - not this year!
It was -15C this morning and this cold, lack of Spring weather is starting to wear on me so...
I am just posting for some fun as I am still stuck inside and going mad!

Post pictures of poor neglected Pinzgauers (guess the one below gave me the idea)
1 picture per post - most neglected Pinz (judged by a Poll later) gets a Genuine 100% Authentic Collectors Haflinger stamp directly from Osterreich!!
Wow, that is an amazing prize for a Pinzgauer competition

No wrecked Pinzi's just neglected.

I will start the fun off with this gem from the classifieds (no offense to sellor):

I "love" how there is no end of abused Hafi pics in the inter-webs, but almost all photos of Pinzi paint the vehicles in the most rugged and ready of conditions. Someone MUST have a photo of a Quebec Pinz with a "sale superleggera" frame.

My thoughts exactly! Struth, as he might put it.

At least that 712 is likely to go back together again, I'd think.

Found this (thanks to Google) on a local classifieds website, as illustration posted by someone looking for Pinz spares:

Abused and destroyed are what most of those are.
A drivetrain in a workshop is the furthest from being neglected

Though this isn’t what you imagine when you say “neglected” but fits the definition perfectly.

Only 262 miles from new, and left in a back field of a 220 acre fenced facility in south Texas for over 10 years.

It's pains me to know that I drive right by the place it sat and I never knew it. I even have a connection through work there. I'm friends with the owner of the hose company that had the contract for Stewart & Stevenson.

Ed, I have seen that six-by chassis sitting there for years. At least 5 years that I can remember.
