Wow Pinzgauer

Post by ScottishPinz »

Just came across this http://www.gut-automobile.ch/en/pinzgau ... pinzgauers

Not understanding the language (reading from the pictures) it seems to be a diesel conversion on what was originally a petrol pinzgauer. It is amazing, a total re-manufacture of the 1970's truck we know and love!

I see that now... must be an aircon condenser or something at the front.

I revive this thread about a custom build that I had seen mid-completion in late 2013 when I brought my own truck to Gut in Zurich for much more mundane maintenance and fabrication.
It is now (already) for sale in Ukraine, for an equivalent of... about US$ 95'000...!!!
For this kind of price, there's a nice set of pictures: http://rikauto.com.ua/ua/new/6109

Crazy to see that truck already for sale - they did a huge amount of work building it for some one - doesn't even look like its ever been used - the interior hasn't even been finished... strange... but I guess for some people with money its just another vehicle they lost interest in...

The dash / steering wheel looks much nicer / newer - I wonder where they are from?

The bead lock wheels on the 718 axles look great too.

Holy snikies - what an amazing job. There are so many artful design choices on this, subtle fabrications that bring out some of the OEM elements while building on top of or replacing parts of it in a way that really brings the design up to date. It does not appear (to me) to be a 70s/80s vehicle any longer, but rather looks almost current. The things they added to it, like the corner pillar windows on the cab, the flared wells, the vents on the reveal behind the front doors, etc., are subtle enough not to take over the original design completely, but they def. change it. I love how clean the interior looks, like is was pre-molded as a single unit. The hand rails and ladder on the inside and outside are nicely done also, not too huge but not thin and dinky looking like they came off an RV either.

If, in the end, the work I do on my volvo ends up being even remotely as nice as this, I will consider it a great success.

I cannot imagine selling this for any price after making it so remarkable. Crazy.
