Anyone have experience rough camping near Quartzite Az? I've seen some websites about it so far and there's lots of BLM land around it. Wondering if there are any good spots that someone has been to?

If you are talking Quartzite AZ. then yes lots of great camping and offroading opportunities. The KOFA are just south of Quartzite has some great history and miles of trails (none very challenging for the pinz). North is the Bill Williams area which also has some fantastic areas to visit. The lands around Quartzite will challenge most pinz drivers to the max of their abilities. There are a couple of very nice Pinz owners in the Brenda/Quartzite area along with some former pinz owners who are great at showing off the area. The SWPA will be spending some time out in the area once again after all the snow birds have left (way too many out there right now to enjoy the area)

Thanks. Im wondering more about camping on the trails or a good spot to set up for a night or two and will save heavy trail fun for another time. I assume since most of it appears to be BLM that I can do my usual find-a-spot and claim it thing. I'm going soon for a combo flea market/camping trip.

Years ago when I lived in an RV camper, I picked up a book at Camping World (huge RV store) that had listings of free camping throughout the US. For the year I lived in the RV I never paid for camping. So many sites and many on BLM land. Usual limit for BLM sites was 14 days as I recall.
These sites were especially good if only wanting to stop for the night on your route.
Spent many nights at truck stops and WalMart parking lots. Sometimes at roadside rest stops if I was leaving early in the AM.
Usually preferred somewhere way away from cities though.

yep, you can pull up just about anywhere and set up. This time of year there will be lots of folks in and around Quartzite doing the same thing.

Hot tip: There are a lot less people out there in July - you'll have the place to yourself!
